⯌ Around January s.1207, in the general space between Trails of Cold Steel 4 and Trails Into Reverie, something in Zemuria's core magical existence malfunctioned horribly. This resulted in a severe warping of spirit veins, explosion of monsters, blah blah unspecific AU apocalypse nonsense. This ultimately resulted in a collapse of existing governments and lots and lots of people dying. Don't ask me too many details I'm LAZY.
⯌ Most of the known characters either died or got scattered. This included most of the SSS, though Wazy missed the doom party in Crossbell and arrived just in time to help clear bodies.
⯌ Part of the magic warping caused the dominion's stigma to corrupt. This generally results in insanity or just plain exploding, and is trigged by strong emotions. There has been very high turnover, but also very quick reappearance of lost stigma. The Gralsritter was put under new management, as it were. Dominions are no longer allowed to quit, and if corrupted are subject to immediate execution. Wazy has not imploded yet but it is likely a matter of time.
⯌ In s.1212 Wazy almost died on a mission. Wald got a stigma because it was a Traumatizing Event, which didn't go well for him because he is himself and doesn't know what chill is. Wazy tried to prevent the whole execution for being angry thing but as he was still fucked up he failed. The rest of his crew lost their lives getting Wazy out of dodge, so now he is both a wanted heretic and extremely sad.
⯌ While other surviving characters were doing other things that may or may not be helpful to the plot, Wazy bought a bar in the city-that-used-to-be-Roer and turned himself into an information broker for the seedy underground. Having gone back to being a Jaeger after Shit Happened, Randy wandered into said bar by chance in s.1215, and the two of them have been getting into trouble ever since. Also having emotional problems, as one does.

WIP but for quick reference Wazy's AU is that lots of things went VERY WRONG around the end of Trails of Cold Steel IV and now he's older and lonelier and his powers are unstable and spooky.

NOTE: this app will have a lot of spoilers for Trails from Zero to Azure, as well as references to some stuff from the rest of the Trails series (though I have tried to avoid major spoilers of other games, there are some unavoidable Cold Steel spoilers.).
Also Wazy's name is technically spelled Łazy so I'm putting it on official stuff but it's pronounced and most commonly localized as Wazy (including the one time it was used in an Official translation) so that's what I'm using most of the time. Both are valid spellings and Łazy is fun but Wazy is easier!
